Elicasal Ointment 30 g is a prescription topical ointment combining an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid with salicylic acid for thickened, scaly inflammatory skin conditions. It is commonly used for conditions such as psoriasis-like plaques or hyperkeratotic dermatitis under medical guidance.

Elicasal Ointment is formulated for steroid-responsive inflammatory skin conditions where thickening and scaling are prominent. The corticosteroid component helps reduce inflammation, redness, and itching, while salicylic acid supports keratolytic action—helping loosen and reduce thick scales so the medication can penetrate better.\n\nCommon doctor-directed uses:\n- Hyperkeratotic eczema/dermatitis\n- Psoriasis plaques or scaly inflammatory patches (as assessed)\n- Thickened, rough skin areas needing both anti-inflammatory and scale-reducing support\n\nWhy this combination is used:\n- Corticosteroid calms inflammation and itch\n- Salicylic acid helps lift scaling and smooth texture\n- Together, they improve comfort and visible scaling control\n\nBest practice during use:\n- Apply thinly to affected plaques only\n- Use for limited periods as prescribed\n- Support skin barrier with appropriate moisturizers (separate timing)\n\nOveruse may lead to skin thinning or irritation, especially on sensitive areas. If no improvement or worsening occurs, medical review is needed.
Corticosteroid (as per label) + Salicylic acid; ointment base (emollients, stabilizers).
Usage: Apply thin layer to affected area as prescribed; typically once daily or as directed.\nPrecautions: Prescription-only; avoid face/groin/underarms unless directed; do not use on infected skin unless advised; avoid large areas and prolonged use; stop if severe burning/irritation occurs; keep away from eyes and mucosa.
