• Check that the protective seal on the new pen needle is intact.
• Remove the protective seal.
• Attach the needle securely to the compatible insulin pen according to the pen manufacturer's instructions.
• Remove the outer needle cap and keep it for safe needle removal after the injection where appropriate.
• Remove the inner needle cap.
• Prime the insulin pen according to the manufacturer's instructions to confirm proper insulin flow.
