Claritine 10mg Tablets contain Loratadine, a long-acting antihistamine used to relieve symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis and urticaria.

Each tablet contains 10mg of Loratadine, which works by blocking the effects of histamine, a naturally occurring substance released by the body during an allergic reaction.

Claritine helps relieve common allergic rhinitis symptoms including sneezing, runny or itchy nose and burning, itchy or watery eyes. It may also help relieve symptoms of urticaria such as itching, redness and hives.

A single recommended daily dose provides allergy symptom relief lasting throughout the day. At the recommended dose, Loratadine is generally not expected to cause significant drowsiness, making it suitable for daytime allergy management for most users.

Claritine can be taken with or without food and is suitable for adults and children aged 6 years and above who weigh more than 30kg.

How to Use:

• Adults and children aged 6 years and above weighing more than 30kg: Take one tablet once daily.
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water.
• Claritine may be taken with or without food.
• Take only the recommended daily dose.
• For adults and children weighing more than 30kg with severe liver problems, one tablet every other day may be recommended under medical supervision.
• The score line is intended to help break the tablet for easier swallowing and is not intended to divide the tablet into equal doses.
• If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered unless it is nearly time for the next dose.
• Do not take a double dose to compensate for a missed dose.

Precautions:

• Do not take Claritine if you are allergic to Loratadine or any other ingredient in the tablet.
• Claritine tablets should not be given to children younger than 6 years or children weighing 30kg or less; more suitable formulations are available for these patients.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have liver disease.
• If you are scheduled for allergy skin testing, stop taking Claritine at least 2 days before the test because it may affect the results.
• At the recommended dose Claritine is not normally expected to cause drowsiness; however, some individuals may experience sleepiness.
• If drowsiness occurs, avoid driving, operating machinery or performing activities requiring full alertness.
• If pregnant, planning pregnancy or think you may be pregnant, consult a healthcare professional before use.
• As a precaution, use during pregnancy should preferably be avoided unless advised by a healthcare professional.
• Do not use while breastfeeding unless specifically advised by a healthcare professional, as Loratadine passes into breast milk.
• This medicine contains lactose; consult a healthcare professional if you have been diagnosed with intolerance to certain sugars.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose.
• Seek medical advice if allergy symptoms persist, worsen or are accompanied by severe breathing difficulty or swelling.
• Store at or below 30°C.
• Protect from excessive moisture.
• Keep in the original packaging until required for use.
• Keep out of sight and reach of children.
