Directions for Use:
For acute diarrhoea in adults and children aged 12 years and above:
β’ Take 2 tablets (4mg) initially.
β’ Then take 1 tablet (2mg) after each loose stool.
β’ Do not take more than 6 tablets (12mg) within 24 hours.
β’ Place the tablet directly on the tongue.
β’ Allow the tablet to dissolve and swallow with saliva.
β’ No water is required.
β’ Do not use for longer than 48 hours for an acute diarrhoea attack without seeking medical advice.
Precautions:
β’ Do not use in children under 12 years of age.
β’ Do not exceed the recommended dose. Taking excessive loperamide can cause serious heart problems.
β’ Do not use if you are allergic to loperamide hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients.
β’ Do not use when there is blood in the stools accompanied by a high fever.
β’ Do not use when slowing bowel movement should be avoided, including certain cases of intestinal obstruction or abdominal swelling.
β’ Stop treatment and seek medical advice if constipation, abdominal distension or bowel obstruction develops.
β’ Diarrhoea can cause significant fluid and electrolyte loss; adequate fluid and electrolyte replacement is important.
β’ Consult a doctor if acute diarrhoea does not improve within 48 hours.
β’ Use with caution and seek medical advice if you have liver disease.
β’ Consult a healthcare professional before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
β’ Contains aspartame, a source of phenylalanine, which should be considered by people with phenylketonuria.
