It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, helping stop bacterial growth and allowing the immune system to clear the infection. It may be prescribed for respiratory infections, skin infections including acne-related bacterial involvement, certain urogenital infections, and other susceptible conditions depending on local guidelines.\n\nKey points about therapy:\n- Must be taken exactly as prescribed for the full course\n- Skipping doses or stopping early can reduce effectiveness and contribute to resistance\n- Timing with food and minerals matters for absorption\n\nHow to take (typical guidance, follow your doctor):\n- Swallow with a full glass of water\n- Avoid lying down immediately after taking\n- Separate from iron, calcium, magnesium, antacids, and dairy by a few hours (may reduce absorption)\n\nCommon considerations:\n- Sun sensitivity can increase; sun protection is important\n- Gastrointestinal upset can occur; taking with food may help (follow advice)\n\nDoxylag is not appropriate for viral infections and should not be used without medical assessment.
