Duspatalin Retard 200mg Capsules contain Mebeverine Hydrochloride 200mg in a modified-release formulation designed to provide prolonged antispasmodic action for the symptomatic relief of abdominal pain, intestinal cramps and bowel discomfort associated with irritable bowel syndrome.
The modified-release granules gradually release mebeverine after administration, allowing the medicine to help relax gastrointestinal smooth muscle over an extended period. This enables convenient twice-daily administration compared with standard immediate-release formulations.
The capsules should be swallowed whole with water and must not be chewed, as chewing may interfere with the modified-release properties of the formulation.
