K-Flam Powder for Oral Solution 50mg is a prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine containing Diclofenac Potassium for the short-term treatment of acute pain, inflammation and swelling.

Each 1g sachet contains Diclofenac Potassium 50mg. Diclofenac works by reducing the production of prostaglandins, substances involved in pain, inflammation and swelling.

K-Flam may be prescribed for acute painful and inflammatory conditions including pain and swelling following sprains or other injuries, postoperative pain following dental or orthopaedic procedures, primary dysmenorrhoea, migraine attacks, painful conditions of the spine and non-articular rheumatic pain.

It may also be prescribed as supportive treatment in selected severe painful inflammatory conditions of the ear, nose or throat when appropriate treatment for the underlying condition is also provided.

The powder is dissolved in non-carbonated water before administration, providing a convenient alternative to conventional solid oral dosage forms.

Treatment should always use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration according to the prescribing physician's instructions.

How to Use:

• K-Flam is a prescription medicine and should be taken exactly as directed by the physician.
• Empty the contents of one prescribed sachet into a glass of plain, non-carbonated water.
• Stir until the powder is dispersed.
• The prepared solution may appear slightly cloudy or opalescent.
• Drink the prepared solution immediately.
• It is preferably taken before meals unless otherwise directed by the physician.
• Adults are generally prescribed a total daily dose of 100–150mg depending on the condition and severity.
• In milder cases, 50–100mg daily may be sufficient.
• The total daily dose may be divided into up to three doses according to medical advice.
• For migraine attacks, a physician may prescribe 50mg at the first signs of an attack, with further doses only according to the approved dosing schedule.
• Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration.

Precautions:

• Prescription-only medicine.
• Not recommended for children and adolescents below 14 years of age.
• Do not use if you are allergic to Diclofenac, Aspirin or other NSAIDs.
• Do not use if Aspirin or another NSAID has previously caused asthma, hives or acute rhinitis.
• Do not use if you have an active stomach or intestinal ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation.
• Do not use in severe heart, liver or kidney failure.
• Do not use during the last three months of pregnancy.
• Consult a physician before use during the first or second trimester of pregnancy.
• Diclofenac should not be used while breastfeeding unless specifically advised by a healthcare professional.
• Use cautiously in patients with high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney impairment or fluid retention.
• Use cautiously in patients with a history of stomach ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease.
• Do not combine with other NSAIDs unless specifically prescribed.
• Tell your doctor if you take Aspirin, anticoagulants, antiplatelet medicines, corticosteroids, SSRIs, lithium, digoxin, methotrexate, diuretics or blood-pressure medicines.
• Contains Aspartame and may not be suitable for people with phenylketonuria.
• Stop treatment and seek urgent medical attention if severe stomach pain, vomiting of blood, black stools, breathing difficulty, facial swelling or a serious skin reaction develops.
• Fever alone is not an indication for K-Flam treatment.
• Store below 30°C.
• Store in the original packaging to protect from moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children.
