Humalog Mix25 100 Units/ml 3ml Prefilled Pen is a prescription premixed insulin medicine containing Insulin Lispro and Insulin Lispro Protamine Suspension for the treatment of diabetes mellitus in patients who require insulin to maintain appropriate blood glucose control.
Humalog Mix25 contains 25% rapid-acting Insulin Lispro in solution and 75% Insulin Lispro Protamine Suspension, which provides a more prolonged insulin effect. This combination is designed to provide both mealtime insulin coverage and an extended insulin action within a single premixed formulation.
Each 3ml prefilled pen contains 300 units of Insulin Lispro at a concentration of 100 units/ml. The rapid-acting component begins working quickly after subcutaneous injection, allowing Humalog Mix25 to be administered shortly before meals and, when necessary, soon after a meal according to medical advice.
The insulin suspension must be properly resuspended before every injection so that it appears uniformly cloudy or milky. The dose is individualized by the treating physician according to blood glucose levels, diet, physical activity, concurrent medicines and the patient's overall insulin requirements.

How to Use:
• Use Humalog Mix25 exactly as prescribed by the treating physician or diabetes-care professional.
• Humalog Mix25 is for subcutaneous injection only.
• It must never be administered intravenously.
• The dose is individualized according to the patient's insulin requirements and blood glucose control.
• Humalog Mix25 may be given shortly before a meal.
• When necessary and medically appropriate, it may also be given soon after a meal.
• Before every injection, properly resuspend the insulin.
• Roll the prefilled pen gently between the palms 10 times and invert it 180° 10 times.
• Continue gentle mixing if necessary until the suspension appears uniformly cloudy or milky.
• Do not shake vigorously because this may cause foaming and interfere with accurate dose delivery.
• Inspect the insulin before injection.
• Do not use if clumps are present or solid white particles stick to the bottom or walls of the cartridge, creating a frosted appearance.
• Inject subcutaneously into the abdomen, thigh, upper arm or buttock as instructed by the healthcare professional.
• Rotate injection sites regularly to reduce the risk of lipodystrophy and cutaneous amyloidosis.
• Do not massage the injection site after administration.
• Attach a new compatible pen needle for every injection.
• Remove and safely discard the needle after each injection.
• Never share the prefilled pen or needles with another person, even if the needle has been changed.
• Do not mix Humalog Mix25 with another insulin or medicinal product.
Precautions:
• Prescription-only insulin medicine.
• Do not use during an episode of hypoglycaemia.
• Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to Insulin Lispro or any component of the formulation.
• Hypoglycaemia is the most common important adverse effect of insulin treatment.
• Symptoms of low blood glucose may include sweating, trembling, hunger, dizziness, palpitations, weakness, confusion or changes in behaviour.
• Severe hypoglycaemia may cause loss of consciousness and requires urgent treatment.
• Inadequate insulin dosing or interruption of treatment can cause hyperglycaemia and potentially diabetic ketoacidosis.
• Changes in insulin brand, type, strength or regimen should be made only under medical supervision.
• Insulin requirements may change with illness, emotional stress, changes in diet, physical activity, kidney impairment or liver impairment.
• Regular blood glucose monitoring should be performed as advised by the healthcare professional.
• Repeated injection into the same area may cause lipodystrophy or cutaneous amyloidosis; continuously rotate injection sites.
• Never attempt to withdraw insulin from the prefilled pen into a syringe.
• Before first use, store refrigerated at 2°C–8°C.
• Do not freeze and do not use insulin that has been frozen.
• Protect from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
• After first use, store the prefilled pen below 30°C.
• Do not refrigerate the pen after first use.
• Discard the pen 28 days after first use, even if insulin remains.
• Do not store the pen with the needle attached.
• Keep out of reach of children.
