Premosan 10mg/2ml Injection is a prescription antiemetic medicine containing Metoclopramide Hydrochloride. Each 2ml ampoule provides 10mg of Metoclopramide.
Metoclopramide works mainly by blocking dopamine receptors involved in nausea and vomiting and by enhancing upper gastrointestinal motility. It helps accelerate gastric emptying and promotes movement of food through the upper digestive tract.
Premosan Injection may be used in adults for the prevention or treatment of nausea and vomiting in appropriate clinical situations, including postoperative nausea and vomiting, acute nausea and vomiting, and nausea associated with certain treatments, according to the treating physician's instructions.

How to Use:
• Premosan Injection must be administered by a doctor, nurse or qualified healthcare professional.
• It may be given by intramuscular injection or by slow intravenous injection.
• Intravenous administration should be given slowly, generally over at least 3 minutes.
• For adults, a commonly used single dose is 10mg, depending on the indication.
• When repeat dosing is required, doses are generally separated by at least 6 hours.
• The maximum recommended adult daily dose is generally 30mg or 0.5mg/kg body weight, whichever is lower.
• For prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting, a single 10mg dose may be prescribed.
• Dosage may need to be reduced in patients with kidney or liver impairment.
• Use only according to the treatment regimen prescribed by the physician.
• Each ampoule is intended for single use; discard any unused remainder.
Precautions:
• Prescription-only medicine.
• Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to Metoclopramide or any component of the formulation.
• Do not use where stimulation of gastrointestinal movement could be dangerous, such as gastrointestinal bleeding, obstruction or perforation.
• Contraindicated in patients with phaeochromocytoma.
• Do not use in patients with a history of tardive dyskinesia caused by Metoclopramide or neuroleptic medicines.
• Contraindicated in epilepsy and Parkinson's disease.
• Do not use together with levodopa or dopamine agonists.
• Not recommended in children below 1 year of age.
• Metoclopramide can cause extrapyramidal reactions such as involuntary movements, muscle spasms or restlessness, particularly in children and young adults.
• Treatment should generally be kept as short as clinically appropriate.
• May cause drowsiness, dizziness or reduced alertness.
• Avoid alcohol because it can increase sedative effects.
• Use caution in patients with cardiac rhythm disorders or electrolyte abnormalities.
• Use caution in patients with kidney or liver impairment; dose adjustment may be necessary.
• Pregnancy use should be based on medical advice.
• Breastfeeding is generally not recommended during treatment because Metoclopramide passes into breast milk.
• Seek immediate medical attention if involuntary movements, severe muscle rigidity, abnormal heartbeat or signs of an allergic reaction occur.
• Store according to the conditions stated on the original pack.
• Keep out of reach of children.
